Tiran Island Dive

The Straits of Tiran, between the Sinai coast and Tiran Island, hold a cluster of world-famous reefs — Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas and Gordon — where currents feed some of Sharm's most exhilarating diving.

Divers drift along coral ridges and steep walls patrolled by trevally, tuna and sometimes reef sharks, with dramatic underwater topography and superb visibility. Snorkellers on the same day boats enjoy the shallow reef tops, and the crossing itself is scenic, with the Saudi mountains rising across the water.

Best suited to divers with a little experience thanks to the currents, Tiran is a Red Sea rite of passage from Sharm.
