Naama Bay is Sharm el-Sheikh's original resort heart, a crescent of hotels, palm-lined promenade and shallow turquoise water where the town's tourism first took off. By day it's about the beach and the easy snorkelling just offshore; by night the pedestrian strip fills with restaurants, cafes, shisha lounges and dive shops.
It makes an effortless, walkable base: everything from boat trips to Ras Mohammed to desert safaris and St Catherine excursions is booked from here, and the calm bay is gentle enough for families and first-time snorkellers.
The vibe is unabashedly holiday-resort rather than authentic Egypt, but for reef access and after-dark buzz in one place, it delivers.
Know before you go
Prices along the main promenade are aimed at tourists, so agree fares and menu costs upfront and expect gentle but persistent touting from shop and restaurant staff.
