Desert Quad & Bedouin

This Hurghada desert safari swaps sea for sand — a rush across the open desert by quad or ATV that ends at a Bedouin camp under a huge sky.

You throttle out in convoy over the flats and low dunes, usually pausing for a camel ride and a stop at a Bedouin settlement, before gathering at camp for tea, a grilled dinner and often music as the desert cools. Sunset and evening departures are the pick, trading the daytime heat for pink light and, later, a canopy of stars.

It is Hurghada's cheapest thrill and an easy, high-energy contrast to a day on the reef.
