Cairo & Giza · Giza sunset camel & quad
4x4 Desert Safari with Sandboarding & Camel Ride Tour from Cairo
Your Experience
Trade Cairo traffic for Fayoum's open desert: dune bashing, sandboarding, a camel ride, and Egypt's only natural waterfall, all in a single day trip.
Getting Started
Your shared, air-conditioned transfer picks you up from your Cairo or Giza hotel at 7am. The 100-minute drive to Wadi El Rayan gives your multilingual guide time to brief you on the day. Skip the heavy breakfast — you'll thank yourself during dune bashing.
What To Expect
First stop is Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls, Egypt's largest natural waterfall cutting unexpectedly through desert terrain. Keep an eye on the shoreline for slender-horned gazelles; sightings are occasional but real. From here, the group moves to Mudawara Mountain for a photo stop in front of its distinctive layered rock formation rising above the sand. Then the desert opens up. Your 4x4 driver takes the dunes at speed — passengers hold on, no driving required. After dune bashing, you swap the vehicle for a sandboard and ride the same slopes on foot; guides help with posture and technique. A short camel ride follows before the group settles into a Bedouin camp for hot BBQ lunch and tea. The convoy returns to Cairo by 5pm. Bring ~USD 5 in cash for the national park entry fee, paid at the gate.
